Before coming to the bar, Matthew was a Solicitor with Leanne Warren and Associates, one of the leading criminal law firms in Melbourne.
While at Leanne Warren and Associates he was involved in all types of Criminal matters, both Indictable and Summary. He appeared every day in a range of Courts, including Bail Applications, Contests, Committals and County Court Pleas and Appeals. He also appeared in contested Intervention Orders.
From 2001 to 2005 he was a Solicitor Advocate in London, working for Christmas and Sheehan, a prominent London Criminal firm. He handled Major crime casework and appearances at all Court levels.
Since coming to the bar in 2009 Matthew has appeared in criminal matters in all jurisdictions, including appearing in many complex criminal trials.
He is admitted in Victoria and England and Wales.
Matthew holds an Indictable Crime Certificate and is a member of the VLA Preferred Barrister List.
