Parnell’s Barristers are proud to support RUOK day

Parnell’s Barristers were proud to support RUOK Day on Thursday 8 September 2022.

In a breakfast event, two of our own barristers shared their own experiences and advice on the importance of mental wellbeing, particularly within the workplace.

RUOK are a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Committed to a world in which everyone is protected from self-harm, their mission is to empower “help-givers”, supporting them in building awareness, connections and support networks for people struggling with their mental health.

RUOK Day is a national day of action across Australia. With events planned in workplaces, schools and wider communities across the country, it serves to remind us all of the part that we can play in taking care of peers, colleagues and friends – spotting the warning signs, and responding with the simple question, “Are you OK?”.

At Parnell’s Barristers, we understand that sometimes things are more difficult for those around us than they may appear on the surface. Often, the simple act of reaching out – and checking in – can make all the difference.

The charity has produced a wealth of resources and tips to help drive change – you can access them here.
