Cara Foot appointed as Crown Prosecutor

Parnell’s Barristers warmly congratulates Cara Foot on her appointment as Crown Prosecutor with the Office of Public Prosecutions Victoria.

Cara is an accomplished advocate with a broad criminal practice spanning both prosecution and defence, as well as significant experience in Coronial Inquests. She has appeared in complex and serious matters across the Supreme and County Courts, including homicide, drug offences, fraud and occupational health and safety prosecutions. Her experience advising on evidentiary and procedural issues, together with her work across multiple prosecuting agencies, reflects a depth of expertise well suited to the demands of this role.

Her appointment comes as part of the important work carried out by the Office of Public Prosecutions in preparing and conducting serious criminal matters on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions, as well as supporting victims and witnesses through the court process and contributing to broader law enforcement and reform efforts.

Cara’s sound judgement, balanced perspective and commitment to the administration of justice make her an excellent addition in this capacity. We warmly congratulate Cara on this well-deserved appointment.
