Biography

Codey accepts briefs in criminal and quasi-criminal law matters, including administrative law and regulatory proceedings.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Codey was a Senior Associate at Doogue + George Lawyers and a solicitor-advocate at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA).

He began his career as a graduate with the Office of Public Prosecutions, Victoria.

Codey has extensive experience appearing in all areas of criminal law, including pleas, bail applications, contested hearings, committals, and appeals in the County Court. He has appeared as junior counsel in jury trials in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.

He has also volunteered with Reprieve, undertaking a research role into the death penalty in Indonesia.

Codey is reading with Christopher Terry and his Senior Mentor is Colin Mandy SC.
