Parnell’s Barristers is proud to share that our entire administrative team has completed their accreditation as Mental Health First Aiders™, certified through Mental Health First Aid™ Australia.
This important milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive and people-focused workplace – one where mental health and wellbeing are prioritised alongside professional excellence.
The training was delivered by Jeremy Parker from Workpsyched, a psychologist with over 30 years’ experience in people and program development, training, and as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Jeremy’s engaging and insightful approach was deeply valued by our team, equipping each of us with practical tools to recognise, respond to and support those experiencing mental health challenges.
The newly accredited Mental Health First Aiders™ at Parnell’s Barristers are:
By becoming one of the first administrative teams to achieve full accreditation, we are taking a proactive step to ensure mental health awareness, empathy and early intervention remain at the forefront of how we work – and how we support our barristers and the broader legal community.
To frame Parnell’s Barristers’ approach to wellbeing, it is helpful to first identify why we place such importance on this aspect of our work and interaction with our fellow members, clients and the wider community. We stand in support of our barristers because their improved wellbeing:
- Makes for happy and productive work
- Affects more than just one’s self
- Is a never-ending process of learning and development
- Will ultimately help our barristers outperform in the industry
In our pursuit of these outcomes, we aim to make a noticeable difference to the legal profession as a whole. We want our list to lead the way in supporting its members – and anyone with whom we interact – in nurturing holistic, positive and lasting change.
At Parnell’s Barristers, we believe that caring for people is fundamental to sustaining excellence. The wellbeing of our team, our barristers and the wider profession is not an afterthought – it is a central pillar of who we are and how we operate.
