Parnell’s Barristers is delighted to congratulate Cherie Staub, Barristers’ Clerk, on her recent appointment to the Women in Crime (WIC) Committee for 2026.
Women in Crime is a respected association dedicated to connecting, educating and supporting women practising in criminal law. Through mentoring programs, CPDs, networking events and regional initiatives, WIC plays a vital role in promoting the longevity, wellbeing and professional development of women across the criminal law community.
Cherie brings more than two decades of experience in the criminal jurisdiction to her new role. Her career spans private practice and the public sector, including roles with Victoria Police and Victoria Legal Aid, as well as almost a decade managing a highly regarded regional criminal law firm. These experiences have given Cherie a deep understanding of the profession and a strong appreciation of the challenges faced by practitioners, particularly in regional and remote areas.
Since joining Parnell’s Barristers, Cherie has been a valued member of our clerking team. She is widely respected for her leadership, commitment to wellbeing and equality, and her genuine dedication to mentoring and supporting others in the profession.
Cherie’s appointment to the WIC Committee reflects her longstanding commitment to community engagement, professional development and access to justice. We are proud to see her contributing her experience and energy to an organisation that aligns so closely with her values.
