Standing with Justice: Parnell’s Barristers Supports the 2025 Bugmy Bar Book Advocacy Workshop

At Parnell’s Barristers, we believe that true advocacy means not only standing up for our clients in court, but also working to create a fairer, more compassionate justice system. That is why we are proud to support the 2025 Bugmy Bar Book Advocacy Workshop, to be held in Melbourne this November.

The Bugmy Bar Book is a vital, free resource that brings together nationwide research on the impacts of trauma, socioeconomic inequality, and systemic disadvantage. It equips lawyers and courts with strengths-based evidence to ensure that the life experiences of individuals are meaningfully considered during sentencing. By doing so, it advances access to justice for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

This workshop will provide practitioners with practical training on how to integrate the Bugmy Bar Book into their advocacy. Through expert presentations and hands-on exercises, attendees will gain valuable insights into how to use this resource to promote fairer and more informed sentencing outcomes in Victoria.
