Biography

Tim accepts briefs in criminal and quasi-criminal matters, including disciplinary tribunal proceedings, regulatory matters and inquests.

Before coming to the Bar, Tim practised as a solicitor in the Indictable Crime Team at Victoria Legal Aid, where he appeared in a range of summary and indictable matters in the County Court and the Magistrates’ Court. In addition to his appearance work, he maintained a large case load of complex indictable matters involving homicide, sexual offences, drugs and fraud.

Tim also practised as a solicitor advocate at the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP). As a solicitor advocate, he regularly appeared in the County Court and the Magistrates’ Court, in plea hearings, committal hearings, appeals against sentence, bail applications, and summary jurisdiction applications. While at the OPP, Tim also gained experience in preparing indictable matters for hearing in all jurisdictions.

Beyond practising in criminal law, Tim has worked as the Manager of Law Reform and Policy at the County Court of Victoria, where he was responsible for preparing the Court’s responses to various law reform proposals from government.

Tim accepts briefs for matters in both metropolitan and regional courts.
