Biography

Samantha practices in all areas of criminal law and intervention order proceedings. She has extensive experience as an advocate in summary and indictable crime.

Samantha accepts briefs to appear and advise in all criminal and quasi-criminal matters, together with intervention order and regulatory matters.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Samantha worked in private practice at Balmer and Associates. She has also worked at Victoria Legal Aid and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service in Queensland.

Samantha is a member of the VLA Preferred Barrister List and holds an Indictable Crime Certificate.

Samantha is the former Chair of Women in Crime, the leading professional network of female criminal lawyers in Victoria. She was also a member of Liberty Victoria’s Criminal Justice committee.

Samantha appeared as junior counsel in Mokbel v DPP (Cth) [2020] VSC 325; Mokbel v DPP (Cth) [2021] VSCA 94; Mokbel v R [2021] 294 A Crim R 356; Mokbel v R [2022] VSCA 83.
