Biography

Lauren joined the Vic Bar in 2022 and accepts briefs to appear in criminal, quasi-criminal and public law matters across metropolitan and regional courts.

Prior to coming to the bar, Lauren was the Associate to the Honourable Justice Beale in the Trial Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Before her associateship, Lauren practised as a defence solicitor advocate at Victoria Legal Aid’s Melbourne and Shepparton offices, and the Law and Advocacy Centre for Women.

During that time Lauren appeared regularly in the Magistrates Court, the County Court and specialist courts such as the Children’s Court (both Criminal and Family divisions), the Specialist Family Violence Court, and the Koori Court, and instructed in matters in the County and Supreme Courts and the Court of Appeal.

Lauren has extensive experience representing clients with complex matters and complex needs. She has a particular interest in working with women impacted by family violence and criminalisation.

Lauren is reading with Markorius Habib. Her senior mentor is Ruth Shann SC.
