Jack accepts briefs in criminal and quasi-criminal law matters, including administrative law and regulatory proceedings.
Before coming to the Bar, Jack was employed as a Senior Associate at Stary Norton Halphen.
He had carriage of summary and indictable crime matters including those involving allegations of sexual offending, drug trafficking, homicide and white-collar crime.
Jack appeared in the Magistrates’ and Children’s Court in pleas, bail applications, committal hearings and contested hearings. He appeared in pleas, appeals, case conferences and post-sentence reviews including Supervision Order proceedings in the County Court. He instructed in
trials in the County and Supreme Court and had carriage of Court of Appeal matters.
Jack has also worked as a Senior Solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions. There, in one of the Trial Divisions, he prosecuted indictable crime matters.
Prior to practising as a solicitor, Jack was as an Associate to the Honourable Justice McDonald in the Supreme Court of Victoria and gained exposure to matters within the Common Law Division and the Commercial Court. He was also an Associate to the Honourable Chief Justice and Chief Judge Alstergren of the (then separate) Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
