Gemma accepts briefs in criminal, regulatory and quasi-criminal matters, as well as coronial inquests and inquiries.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Gemma was an Associate Crown Prosecutor at the Office of Public Prosecutions, Victoria. She also worked at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, Victoria Legal Aid, and was an Associate to a County Court Judge.
Gemma has extensive experience prosecuting and defending criminal matters. She has appeared in trials, pleas, appeals, committals, case conferences and bail applications in courts throughout Victoria, including the Children’s Court, County Koori Court and County Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court.
Her experience covers a broad range of indictable matters, including homicide, dangerous driving, sexual offences and drug offences. She has experience in regulatory matters, advising and appearing in forestry and wildlife prosecutions.
