Elizabeth practices in criminal, quasi-criminal and administrative law. She also accepts briefs in disciplinary and regulatory matters, migration matters, coronial inquests, inquiries and torts against public authorities.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Elizabeth was a senior lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid, working across the Indictable Crime and Youth Crime teams for seven years. She also worked as a solicitor-advocate at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency in Darwin for two years.
Elizabeth has experience appearing in summary and indictable matters in the Magistrates’ Court, Children’s Court, County Court and Supreme Court jurisdictions. She has regularly appeared as an advocate in contested criminal matters. She has had conduct of a broad range of indictable matters including homicides, sexual offences, violent offences and serious drug offences. She also has experience with proceedings under the Serious Offenders Act 2018 and the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997.
Before being admitted to practice, Elizabeth was an associate to his Honour Judge Parsons of the County Court of Victoria, who sat in the criminal jurisdiction and in the County Koori Court.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (English) and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia.
Elizabeth is reading with Amy Brennan and her senior mentor is Georgina Coghlan KC.
